Five months of suffering for our beloved pet only to be told it's an aggressive cancer that it was too late at this point. It was NOT too late the first visit, yet instead of actually examining the growth on the mouth they just slapped her with antibiotics and steroid shot, charged us for a FULL examination AND an extra emergency visit charge and told us that ONLY this last visit did they actually look at the growth and determine it was cancer.
All that meant was another $300 visit to the Falmouth location, NEITHER vet talked to one another, and NEITHER vet actually looked inside her mouth.
Apparently she wouldn't politely open up her mouth and say "AHHH". I don't know, you'd think they would know how to look inside but apparently it's our fault for not training our cat to speak English so she'd open up her mouth when asked.
Falmouth AND the one at Grant's Lick. It was so that they could get a second opinion and the 2 vets were supposed to have a consultation together about it or so we were told
Very caring and friendly staff. They truly care about all of the animals they treat.
After a different veterinary facility neglected to perform a cesarean on my pug who had been at their facility for 8 hours. When I arrived expecting to pick up my pug and her puppies, the veterinarian recommended that I euthanize her. I called Grants Lick Animal Hospitals after hours line and explained my dilemma to Dr. Crowley. Dr. Crowley called his staff and found someone who was willing to come back to work to assist him. Unfortunately the puppies had all died because of the amount of time the pug had been in labor but Dr. Crowley was able to save the life of my baby Bubbles. I will never take any animal I own to anyone else.
Oh, BOTH of their locations were visited
In other words, if we had brought our pet back in april/may, we cold have spent the same amount of money (actually we were quoted less than the total bill) and kept our beloved pet.
Long story short, they sent medical record barely past a MONTH. To which my IMMEDIATE response was to call and explain that I have receipts dating back until the beginning April (they said our first visit was at the end of June, which ACTUALLY it was the end of March for the first visit alas that receipt could not be found, so I'm not even counting it)
I figured I would post an update.
After posting this I was contacted asking to please change or take down my review because THEY feel like they took amazing care. In the letter they provided records and bills as well as a copy of this post.
Eventually a different vet saw the cat (same location though) And after 3 visits I was left a voice mail of "well I was finally able to get a good look inside her mouth..."
No response was given, unless you count the 5 dollar donation "in her honor" to help veterinary hospitals better train their staff.
So you're saying it took 3 vets over 4 months with visits every other week or so to look inside one cats mouth? Sounds like this veterinary hospital needs to donate more than $5 to help better train their staff. Without any compensation just a little effort we were able to do the same thing at home. We're not trained professionalso though to know what we were looking at, hence us taking our pet here.
Been going here for years. The best vets and staff you could ask for!
Everybody I have told this story in depth to is no longer taking their animals here. I will literally drive an hour to get some worm medicine before I will ever have these people care for any of my animals again.
5 months of suffering that was completely unnecessary on top of the cost of all the visits. I would never recommend this veterinary hospital unless you want to spend thousands to make your pet suffer needlessly.
If I could give a lower rating I would. 5 consultation visits, thousands in bills and it took a 6th visit to actually have the problem looked at for the FIRST TIME (yes, the first 5 visits we paid for full examination, but no examination was ever done.
The kicker to it all, was we were told "yeah if you would have brought her in sooner maybe a couple of months we could have possibly removed it with surgery"
Great Place!. Very nice people who care about your pets.
Slow wait but very helpful
Right. Okay. Like I said, every person I've told this experience to and shown the documentation has sworn to never go here again.
